MABEL C. (ZIMMERMAN) HAWORTH
Lusk - Funeral services for Mabel C. Haworth, 83, will be 10 a.m. Wed. November 15 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Strock officiating. Interment will follow in the Lusk Cemetery. She died Wednesday at the Hospice Care Life Center in Casper after a short battle with cancer. She was born on July 18. 1917 in Bordac, Nebraska to Irven and Mabel (Dout) Zimmerman; she was the youngest of six children. She attended school in Harrison and after graduating high school, she attended the Business College in Omaha, Nebraska. She married Howard Haworth on December 14, 1936. She enjoyed life, her family and friends. She especially enjoyed bowling, playing cards and attending her many club meetings. She was survived by three grandchildren and their spouses, C.J. and Mike Allington of Douglas, Jack Rea and his wife of Hanceville, Alabama and Bill Rea and his wife of Lusk; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard, an infant son, Irven, her daughter Villa, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. A memorial has been established to the Hospice Life Center in Casper or the Niobrara Senior Center in Lusk. LARRY I. ZIMMERMAN
November 30, 1945-January 1, 1999
Funeral services for Larry I. Zimmerman, age 53, was Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Pastor Phil Stombaugh officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Larry died Friday, January 1, 1999 at the Swedith Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, where he had been confined since October. He was born November 30, 1945 in Lusk, Wyoming, the son of Lawrence and Doris Zimmerman. On October 7, 1966 he married Mary Jane Bokamper and to this union one daughter was born, Melissa Sue. Larry was seriously injured in a truck accident in May of 1979, which put him a wheelchair permanently. He spent his time enjoying his family, drinking coffee with his friends, listening to his music and talking on the CB radio. The biggest joy of his life and the apples of his eye were his grandchildren, Sara and C.J. He was very proud of them and encouraged them constantly. Anyone that met Larry knew that gleam in his eye. His honesty, compassion, generosity and sense of humor will be missed by everyone that knew him. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two nieces, Laura Fleck Ybarra and Rhonda Younie. Survivors include his daughter Melissa Leach of Lusk; four sisters, Mable Wade of Lusk, Dorothy Flaherty of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Beverly Younie of Lusk and Patricia Irvin of Manville; one brother Jim Zimmerman of Nampa, Idaho; two grandchildren plus numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for Larry were Dan Wade, Cody Zimmerman, Steve Fleck, Don Savage, Larry Halligan and Darrel Frye. For those who wish, memorials to the family will be appreciated. DORIS E. (PETERSON) ZIMMERMAN
Graveside services for Doris E. Zimmerman, Age 77, were held Tuesday, August 2, 1994, at the Lusk Cemetery with Rev. Sara Power officiating. Mrs. Zimmerman died Thursday evening, July 28, 1994, at the Niobrara County Nursing Home in Lusk following a long illness. She was born January 5, 1917, at Exeter, Nebraska, the daughter of Edgar and Ruth McLeese Peterson. She attended school in Crawford, Nebraska, and graduated from Crawford high School in 1935. On March 5, 1936, she married Lawrence Zimmerman and to this union six children were born. Doris worked for various businesses in Lusk, including the Gambles Store, the Budget, Safeway and was secretary/dispatcher at the Lusk Police Department from which she retired in 1981. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law Mary Zimmerman; and a granddaughter, Rhonda Younie. Survivors include: four daughters, Mable Wade of Lusk; Dorothy Flaherty of Cushing, Oklahoma; Beverly Younie and husband Curt of Lusk; and Patricia Irven and husband George of Gillette; two sons, Larry of Lusk and Jim and wife Brenda of Cheyenne; three sisters, Shirley Dierksen of Chadron, Nebraska; Avis Peterson and Gladys Peterson, both of Sidney, Nebraska; two brothers, Verle and Raymond Peterson of Torrence, California; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. LAWRENCE ZIMMERMAN
Lawrence Emery Zimmerman, former resident of Lusk, died in the Douglas hospital Sunday, December 3, 1978. Funeral service was conducted here from the Peet Mortuary Chapel Friday afternoon. The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated at the service. Taped music of "The Old rugged Cross" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" was played. Pallbearers were Tom Rea, Jack Rea, Bill Rea, James Wade, Charles McKinney and Robert Zimmerman. Interment was in the Bodarc Cemetery in Nebraska. Lawrence Zimmerman was born February 13, 1911, at Harrison, Nebraska, the son of Irven and Mabel (Thayer) Zimmerman. He attended school in Harrison and worked at various ranches in the Harrison area. He was married to Doris Peterson at Crawford, Nebraska on March 5, 1936 and they moved to Lusk in 1938 where he worked as a carpenter and TV repairman. He moved to Douglas in 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by six children; Mable Wade of Lusk, Dorothy Flaherty of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Beverly Younie of Gillette, Larry Zimmerman of Denver, Colorado, Patty Irven of Lusk and Jm Zimmerman of Rock Springs; three sisters, Lily Grapes of Littleton, Colorado, Margaret Kipp of Santa Anna, California, and Clara Haworth of Lusk; 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

(June 13, 1914 - March 27, 1980)
Margaret M. Kipp, former Harrison and Lusk resident, died in a Long Beach hospital March 27, 1980 following a lingering illness.
Clara Haworth, Lusk, sister of Mrs. Kipp had flown to California to be with her.
Margaret Myrtle Kipp was born June 13, 1914, to Irven S. and Mabel (Thayer) Zimmerman.
She attended grade school at Bodarc and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1933.
She and Harry Kipp were married Feb. 5, 1936, at Chadron. She was employed at the K-Mart in Santa Ana, Calif., for nine years retiring in February of 1976.
Interment was in the Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, Calif.
Survivors include her husband Harry of Santa Ana, Calif., sons Earl of La Mesa, Gilbert of Costa Mesa, Ronald of Riverside, Richard of Santa Ana and Joe of El Toro; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandson; and sisters, Mrs. Haworth and Lillie Grapes.

VELMA (ZIMMERMAN) JORDAN
(November 26, 1914 - November 25, 2004)
Velma Zimmerman Jordan, age 89, of Lusk entered eternal rest at her home on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, the day before her 90th birthday. A celebration of her life was held Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lusk with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Interment followed in the Bodarc Cemetery northeast of Harrison, Nebr.
Velma and her twin sister Elma were born of Thanksgiving Day Nov. 26, 1914 to Cleve and Millie Eberspecher Zimmerman in Harrison. Her early years were spent in the Bodarc Community. During the winter when she was 12, she suffered a near fatal rupture of the appendix, causing a year of school absence to recuperate. She graduated from Sioux County High School in 1933.
On Aug. 14, 1937, Velma married Daniel E Jordan in Ardmore, S.D. They had been married for 60 years at the time of Dan's death. To this union, three children were born. They lived and raised their family in the Indian Creek area of Niobrara County on Dan's mother's homestead. Velma moved to Lusk in 1981 due to her failing eyesight.
Until the time of her death, Velma loved to play cards with her family and friends. She was an avid bridge player which was reflected in her many memberships in various bridge clubs. As a founding member of the Indian Creek Bridge Club, her love of Bridge is mirrored in her 55-year commitment to them. Her charter membership of the Indian Creek Extension Club and years of dedication to the Niobrara County Cattlewomen earned Velma honorary memberships. She was eager to celebrate her 90th birthday with family and friends.
Velma is survived by her son Dale and his wife Dorothy Jordan of Lusk; her daughter Sherry and her husband Jack Larson of Scottsbluff, Nebr.; her grandchildren, Kendy Rising, Pam Rising, Diana Martin, Danese and Jeff Reed, Dean and Kathleen Jordan and her great-grandchildren will miss her. She also leaves behind her sister Hilda Mae and her husband L. K. (Boots) Harder, her brother Keith and his wife Olita Zimmerman, sister-in-law Marcella Zimmerman and a boatload of other survivors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, daughter and son-in-law Carol and Durl Holtz and their infant daughter Dixie Lee, her twin sister Elma and brothers Harry and Emery Zimmerman.
A memorial has been established to the Lusk/Niobrara Ambulance or the donor's choice.

LILLIE MAE (ZIMMERMAN) GRAPES
(December 31, 1908 - December 24, 1991)
Lillie Mae Grapes, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1991, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peggy Beardt in Colorado.
Grapes was born Dec. 31, 1908, in Harrison, Neb., the daughter of Irven and Mabel Zimmerman. She was raised on the ranch near Harrison, attended Bodarc School and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1925.
On Feb. 5, 1927, she was married to Gordon Grapes at Torrington, Wyo.
They moved to the Denver area where they were in the grocery business, first representing Piggly Wiggly and later with the A G Stores until their retirement in 1964.
They continued to make their home in Littleton, Colo., until his death on Nov. 28, 1982. She moved to the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Beardt.
She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs in For Morgan, Colo., while her health permitted.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by one sister, Clara Parmely of Harrison; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters; Margaret Kipp and infant Sadie Bell, three brothers; Charley, John and Lawrence Zimmerman and her parents.
Private memorial services were held. She was entombed in Fairmont Mausoleum next to her husband. Memorials may be given to the Lillie Grapes Memorial Fund in care of Jolliffe Mortuary.

VILLA MABEL (HAWORTH) REA
Services for Villa Mabel Rea, age 56, of Lusk will be conducted Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at 2:00 p.m., at the Bader Funeral Home with Rev. Del Cowley of the First Baptist Church officiating.
The casket will remain closed at all times and burial will follow the service at the Lusk Cemetery.
Villa Rea died at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper on May 20, 1994, of cancer.
She was born in Lusk, Wyo., on April 26, 1938, to Howard and Clara Zimmerman Haworth. She grew up in the Lusk and Harrison, Neb., areas, attending rural school in Niobrara County and graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1956. On June 24, 1956, she married Thomas Rea and they were later divorced.
At the age of 14, she started working as a waitress and spent her entire life as a cafe worker and manager. She enjoyed pleasing her customers with her excellent cooking. Villa worked until her death. She also loved to bowl and was one of those who was instrumental in starting the Alumni Association of Lusk.
She was preceded in death by her father, an infant brother and grandparents.
She is survived by a daughter, Clara Jo Stull of Jeffery City; two sons, Jack and wife Teresa Rea of Hanceville, Ala.; Bill and wife Darlene Rea of Lusk; Clara Haworth, her mother, also of Lusk; seven grandchildren, uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

C. H. ZIMMERMAN
(September 3, 1903 - January 11, 1973)
Funeral service for Charlie Zimmerman, 69, formerly of Harrison and Lusk, was held in Reedsport, Ore., January 15. He died January 11.
The service was conducted by The Rev. Glen Widmark, pastor of the Reedsport Baptist Church, at 11:00 a.m. at the Unger Funeral Home. Interment was in the Reedsport Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Rochon, Cliff Barrett, Mike Johnson, Art Tollefson, Reedsport; Frank Russell, Winchester Bay; and Ray DeLange, Coos Bay.
Charlie Henry Zimmerman was born September 3, 1903, in Sioux County, Nebraska, to Irven and Mabel (Thayer) Zimmerman. He grew up on his father's ranch where he lived until he and Zella Howell were married March 12, 1926.
The couple moved to Wyoming and for six years lived on her mother's place. They then moved to Harrison and then Lusk where he became a deacon in the First Baptist Church rearing his family in a religious atmosphere.
In 1942 the family moved to Veronia, Ore., and after two years moved to McMinville where they made their home until 1952 when they moved to Reedsport where he was employed at the I. P. Plywood Mill until his retirement four years ago.
Zimmermans were the parents for five boys and one girl.
Survivors include the widow Zella; sons, Charles of Reedsport, Robert of Denver, Colo., Ira of Colfax, Wash., and Kenneth of Portland; daughter, Ruth E. DeLange of Coos Bay; brother Lawrence of Douglas; stepbrother, Myron Kjose of Bend, Ore.; sisters, Lillie Grapes of Denver, Colo., Margaret Kipp of Santa Ana, Calif., and Clara Haworth of Lusk; a sister-in-law, Helen Zimmerman of Omaha, Neb.; 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A one-year-old son, his parents and a sister preceded him in death.
Mrs. Howard (Clara) Haworth and Mrs. Lawrence Crofutt, Lusk, were among out-of-town relatives attending the funeral. Mrs. Haworth was a sister of Mr. Zimmerman and remained in Reedsport with the family just returning home recently, Mrs. Crofutt is a relative of Mrs. Zimmerman.
Other out-of-town relatives at the service were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kipp, Mrs. Ruth E. DeLange, Lawrence Zimmerman, Larry Zimmerman, Robert Zimmerman, Anity Holtman, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Zimmerman and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Zimmerman and Steve, Pvt. Mike Holtman, and John Eastman.

EMERY ZIMMERMAN
(September 19, 1916 - October 25, 2001)
Emery Zimmerman, 85, was born Sept. 19, 1916 at the home of his parents Cleve and Mildred Zimmerman at Hat Creek Valley in Sioux County, Neb. He died Oct. 25, 2001, at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, Neb.
He attended the Bodarc School and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1936. He married Marcella Edgell on June 15, 1940, at the Methodist Parsonage in Chadron, Neb.
The couple rented his uncle's place in the valley and later purchased it, remaining there for 43 years before moving to Harrison in 1983 as Emery's health declined. Emery loved the ranch in the valley where he and Marcella raised three children, Julie, David and Michael. Emery's family always came first.
His interests included playing cards, square dancing, fishing and just "visiting." Emery was an active member of the community, serving on the boards of the Sioux County Historical Society and the District 6 School and was a member of the Harrison rural fire department.
Survivors include his wife Marcella; his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Allen Ellicott of Pitts, Ga.; sons Emery David Zimmerman of Pensacola, Fla., and Michael Zimmerman of Harrison, Neb.; sisters Velma of Lusk and Hilda of Buckeye, Ariz.; brother Keith of Harrison; grandson Robert Ellicott and his wife Diane; granddaughters Brenda and Elizabeth; and great-granddaughters Charlotte, Alexis and Corrine.
Emery was preceded in death by his brother Harry, sister Elma and granddaughter Kimberly.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Harrison with Pastor Henrietta Stemley and Reverend Robert Todd officiating.
A memorial has been established for the Harrison Ambulance or the Sioux County Foundation/Library Fund and donations may be sent to Security Bank of Harrison Nebraska.

CLEVE ZIMMERMAN
(August 21, 1886 - August 20, 1964)
Cleve Zimmerman, native of the Hat Creek Valley of Sioux County, died August 20 at his home one day before his 78th birthday.
Funeral services were held August 22 at the Memorial Methodist Church in Harrison with the Rev. James D. Keith officiating. Interment was at the Bodarc Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Maurice Keel, Bob Jordan, Bill Coffee, George Schaefer, Everett Thomas, and Buster Wickersham.
Musical selections were "In the Garden," "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Shall We Gather at the River" sung by Mrs. Ruth Hall, Mrs. Phyllis Osborn, and Mrs. Phyllis Gillett. Mrs. Robert Todd was organist.
Cleve G. Zimmerman was born August 21, 1886, the youngest son of Henry and Margaret Zimmerman, early pioneers of the Hat Creek Valley who settled on the ranch at Bodarc in 1885 where members of the family still reside.
Cleve received his education in the public schools of this area and later worked on one of the larger cattle ranches in Wyoming for several years. He returned to the Valley and filed on a homestead adjoining the home where he was born.
On June 16, 1912, he married Mildred M. Eberspecher, daughter of another pioneer family. Six children were born: three sons, Harry, Emery, and Keith all of Harrison, and three daughters, Hilda Mae Harder of Buckeye, Arizona, and twins, Velma Jordan of Harrison and Elma Thayer, deceased.
After Elma's death in 1945, Cleve and Millie raised her daughter, Melba Rae who is now Mrs. Herb Palmer of San Diego, Calif.
Cleve resided on the family ranch until he retired and moved to Harrison in 1958. They celebrated their 52 wedding anniversary in June of this year.
He had been active in community affairs until the last few years. He was always available to help his neighbors in time of need. He was a member of the County Fair Board almost from its organization and was interested in the fair and rodeo until the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife and children, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.

HARRY ZIMMERMAN
(March 9, 1913 - November 10, 1989)
Funeral services for Harry Zimmerman, 76, of Harrison, Neb., were held Friday, Nov. 17, 1989 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Harrison with Rev. Joseph Booker officiating. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.
Zimmerman died Nov. 10, 1989 at home. A memorial has been established at Security National Bank in Harrison.
Zimmerman was born March 9, 1913 in Sioux County to Grover Cleavland and Mildred Mellissa Zimmerman.
His survivors include a daughter Tamera Zimmerman of West Swanzey, N.H.; brothers Emery Zimmerman and Keith Zimmerman, both of Harrison, Velma Jordan of Lusk and Hilda May Harder of Buckeye, Ariz. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

MARY JANE (BOKAMPER) ZIMMERMAN
(January 2, 1943 - February 8, 1971)
Funeral For Mrs. Zimmerman In Lusk Friday
Mrs. Larry (Mary Jane) Zimmerman, 28, died February 8, at the American Medical Center in Denver. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Peet Mortuary with Pastor Beauferd Anderson of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist and played "Abide With Me."
Casket bearers were James Zimmerman, Russell Crowley, Gene Flaherty, Howard Haworth, Tom Rea and Vic Leno.
Mary Jane Bokamper was born to John and Verna Bokamper January 2, 1943, at Norfolk, Neb. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She moved with her family to Hay Springs, Neb., where she grew into womanhood. She was confirmed to the Lutheran Church in Hay Springs.
October 7, 1966, she married Larry Zimmerman. They were the parents of a daughter, Melissa Sue.
Survivors include her widower, Larry, and daughter Melissa Sue of Lusk; two other children, Billy Joe and Teresa Lee Rimmer of Douglas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bokamper, Rushville, and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Steel of Lead, S.D.
A son, Lloyd Rimmer, died previously.

LAURA KAY (FLECK) YBARRA
(April 14, 1959 - January 14, 1998)
Funeral services for Laura Kay Fleck Ybarra, age 38, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Rev. Delia Fay officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.
Laura died Wednesday, January 14, 1998 at the University Hospital in Denver, following a long illness. She was born April 14, 1959, in Yazoo City, Mis., the daughter of Mable and Frank Fleck.
Laura loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved spending time painting, listening to music and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: her mother, Mable Wade of Glenrock; her father, Frank Fleck of Douglas; three brothers and three sisters, Connie and Darrell Henson of Morris, Okla., Debra Oliver of Alliance, Neb., Jeff and Sheri Fleck of Clitherai, Minnesota, Lisa and Dan Kraft of Glenrock, Wyo., Steve Fleck of Glenrock and Dan and Kim Wade of Lusk; plus numerous other family and friends.
For those who wish, memorials to the family in care of Dan Wade of Lusk or to the American Diabetes Association will be appreciated by the family.
